    Author: The Dignity of Labor

1. Introduction:

"Labor is the mother of our good fortune" - "Industry is the mother of good luck"

Labor is the wonder of every human being. It is in the power of this labor that man has laid the foundation of human civilization. Once upon a time in primitive times man made the first tool with the help of labor with stone pebbles. Then for a long time people have built huge monuments of civilization in sesame sesame labor. Man has separated himself from the animal kingdom for the sake of labor. The contribution of labor is at the root of the modern instrument that man operates, draws fine pictures, or draws the melody of wonderful melodies. At the root of every creation of world civilization is the indefatigable labor of the working people.  Speaking of labor, Einstein said:

"A hard working street-cleaner is a better man than a lazy scholar."

That is, a hardworking street cleaner is better than a lazy scholar.

2. Types of labor:

There are mainly two types of labor

1) Physical labor
2) Mental labor

These two types of labor are sufficient to survive in the battle of survival. Working hard in the past is physical labor. And working with the intellect of the head is mental labor. In ancient times, when people lived in forests and caves, people's lives depended on physical labor.

* Mental labor:

Mental labor is the labor that people give by using their brain to think. Mental labor is very important in human life. Human mental development is not possible without mental labor. He says in words: “The lazy brain is the devil's factory. Good thoughts never arise in the mind of a laborer. On the other hand, the mind of a hardworking person is always fresh. The work of scientists, writers, philosophers, physicians, politicians, economists and artists is largely psychological.

* Physical labor:

Physical labor is the labor that a person gives to any work with his physical strength. In order to survive in life, both mental and physical labor must be given equal importance. Mental labor basically motivates work and physical labor helps to solve it. The Creator has endowed us with various organs to perform our bodily functions. The labor that is given using all this is therefore physical labor.
Then, like all other wild animals, human beings have self-defense and food

3. Field of labor:

"Man is the architect of this fortune" means "man himself is the controller of his own destiny". In this busy life, people have to live in a hostile environment. "Life is not a bed of roses" Life is not a flower bed. If people want to survive in this hostile environment, they have to survive only with the help of labor. So it can be said that human life is just a workshop of labor and the world is a workplace.

4. Labor and civilization:

The flood of labor has started from the earliest times of creation, even today it has no end. The contribution of relentless labor is also at the root of the progress of the present century. Working people have created new civilizations. Labor is not only the regulator of human well-being, but also one of the tools for the development of civilization. Human hard work is at the root of making the world beautiful and livable. Countries like America, Russia, China, Japan, Germany etc. are developed for labor. Today they are known as a civilized nation in the world because of their labor. So we have to work hard to develop our civilization.

5. Historical context:

Human civilization is the contribution of labor. But the attitude towards labor was always the same. In primitive society, joint labor was valued. But when there is class division in the society, the dignity of labor is lost. In ancient Ram and Egypt, workers did not have social status. They are regarded as slaves. In the feudal era, the peasants played the role of laborers. They too were disgraced, oppressed and deprived. After the Industrial Revolution, the workers of the capitalist world were oppressed but they gained democratic rights. After the Russian Revolution, when socialism was established under the leadership of the working class, the workers got the highest status.

Labor wins:

At one time people worked hard but did not get their due and evaluation. They were ruled and exploited in various ways. So people became desperate for the status of labor and became involved in the movement. In May 185, workers in the US city of Chicago protested for their just cause. The police fired on them. Many workers were killed in this. From that day on May 1, World May Day is celebrated every year and workers get their fair share of labor rights. The main goal of celebrating World May Day is to make workers aware of their rights.

The Glory of Labor:

Labor is not the only source of prosperity. It gives people the joy of creation and construction. Labor is also needed for the development of the talent that people are born with. It is through hard work that people shape their own destiny. All the great creations in the world are basically the contribution of labor.

Importance of labor:

As the saying goes, "The lazy brain is the devil's factory." Unemployed people become unemployed. There is a saying in English "Man is the maker of his fate and God also helps those who help themselves." That is, man is the creator of his own destiny, and whoever helps himself, God helps him . So tireless labor is needed to build human destiny. Labor is the key to success. Hard work is the right sharpened tool of human beings. The contribution of labor to the astonishing visible progress of urban civilization from the early Dark Ages to the twenty-first century is no less. Speaking about the importance of labor, Robert Louis Stevenson said -

If a man loves the labor of his trade, apart from any question of success or fame, the gods have called him.
Labor is an essential element for the progress of society and the nation in daily life. The lives and deeds of all of us depend on the combination of unseen labor seen by countless people. It is tied to the invisible yagasutra of both physical and mental labor. We have no choice but to acknowledge that labor and managers, farmers and agricultural officers, porters and clerks, teachers and artists - are not neglected in society. The progress of the society is achieved only if everyone fulfills his responsibilities and duties properly. With this in mind, everyone should be given the dignity he deserves

9. Importance of labor in student life:

Student Study: The main goal of a student should be to study. In order to make life beautiful, one has to give labor from student life and that labor will be to study.
The importance of labor in student life is immense. Lazy, idle and frustrated students can never succeed in school. It is not difficult for a hardworking student to achieve success even if he / she is less gifted. Sociologist Parso said- “There is no such thing as talent, pursue; There will be fulfillment. ”

10. Importance of labor in national life:

No nation can prosper without labor. Therefore, the importance of labor from individual life to national life is immense. We can contribute to national development through collective efforts. It is through labor that we can improve the economic condition of our country. We need pursuit and patience for the betterment of national resources. The economic development of a country depends mainly on labor.
Dignity of labor in Islam and other religions: Dignity of labor has been mentioned in all religions. The dignity of labor has also been emphasized in the holy religion of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did all his work with his own hands. He did not consider any work small. He also encouraged his disciples to work with their own hands. Giving the status of labor, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Pay the debt of the worker before his sweat dries." Again in the Upanishads it is said 'Labor is not without Shri'. It points to the dignity of labor.

11. Labor inequality:

Human history has shown that the creation of parasitic classes creates social inequality in the field of labor. Laborers, peasants, and coolies, those who do manual labor, are at the bottom of society. Life without food, without clothes, without education is their daily companion. On the other hand, the parasitic class is immersed in luxury. The plight of the working people in the society has given birth to non-labor in the minds of the people. There is a kind of contempt and hatred towards manual labor. The results may not be beneficial. Every human being is serving the society according to his own merit and strength. Koneta physical Koneta mental labor. So there is no time to ignore or cut corners.

12. Abstinence from labor:

“Laziness brings poverty,
Sin brings sorrow.
Hard work brings wealth,
Virtue brings happiness. ”

There are some ignorant people who learn to understand the value and dignity of labor but they are lazy, averse to work, fatalistic. Because of this laziness they fail in every step of life.

Destiny does not hand over wealth to anyone. Whether it is wealth or success, it never comes from itself, it has to be achieved by relentless hard work and struggle. You have to spend your days in grief and sorrow.

13. Conclusion :

After hundreds of centuries, a new era has come before the working people in the world of the twentieth century. People at the top of the society are forced to give dignity to hardworking people. In the Soviet Union, China, Vietnam and many other countries, hardworking people play an important role in the state power. The importance of labor in the society in the context of vocational and technical education for the welfare of science is now much recognized. The world today is deeply aware that the labor force is the key to the construction and success of society and civilization. In developed countries, many rights and dignity of working people are gradually being recognized. If we also give equal status to the labor of all, then the country and the nation will move forward on the path of progress, real welfare will be achieved.
